LC:M Churchill War Rooms
We all gathered in the Churchill War rooms for the third London Collections Men Savile Row/St James’ Show. We made white shirts, Cashmere and Cotton Country check shirts and twill Cotton shirts, Wool Dressing gowns and Wool Paisley Ties for the Collection, which was styled with Savile Row Suits and James Lock hats.
The mood felt very Alfred Hitchcock, as models typed, wrote, read, smoked and talked state secrets in hushed whispers. I felt the only thing it lacked was a staged murder, but GQ’s Jo Levin certainly thought of everything else.
Georgia Coleridge emailed me this morning, as both her son Alex and my son Kai were modelling in the Map Rooms and I couldn’t have put it better, ” If you haven’t yet heard from Kai, it turned into quite a party with David Furnish, Michael Gambon and AA Gill writing scurrilous notes and making them all laugh, Chivas Regal in Churchill’s glasses, and Elton John in pearls.” LC:M Ambassadors David Gandy and Dermot O’Leary both attended the events looking as charming and immaculate as ever.
